Veuve Clicquot or Dom Perignon?
Basically last Xmas I bought some Moet et Chandon for the folks as a Christmas present and it went down really well. So I'm going to top that and get something even better. But, they aren't experts or anything so which one will give more 'wow' factor? I'm thinking Dom Perignon, but not really sure why?!

Don P tbh.
That's not to say the Verve isn't nice.

Dom Pom has the higher prestige I think, vintage stuff can be very pricy, depending on the year.
Laurent Perrier rose is my favourite tasting.

I'd be buying the Veuve, Dom Perignon just makes me think of black rappers.

Dom Perignon is regarded as the 'better' of the two but Veuve Clicquot is far nicer tasting

DP is regarded as better but I prefer VC any day.

I'm torn still, although it does seem I probably cant go wrong if one is well regarded but the other tastes better.

Get VC.
Also this time of year places like Selfridges do nicely packaged bottles and sets that include glasses etc.

DP is more well known so if you want it to be a visual 'i got you an awesome present' then go that.
I haven't got a clue what tastes better, don't like chapmagne at all tbh

I don't think you'll go far wrong with either, although VC yellow label doesn't look as nice as Dom Pom if you are going for "wow factor". It is probably 3 times the price though!
Don't discount Laurent Perrier rose, nice bottle, usually comes in a box too and is about £30-£40.

Ok well its either this: http://www.thechampagnecompany.com/champagne/veuve-clicquot-champagne/veuve-clicquot-la-grande-dame-2004-vintage-champagne-veuve-gift-box/prod_350.html
Or: http://www.thechampagnecompany.com/champagne/dom-perignon-champagne/dom-perignon-2002-vintage-champagne-75cl-gift-boxed-/prod_10.html
Both look decent and should get me some brownie points with the folks.

It's probably more popular to the older generation than Dom

Why spend £80-90 on champers for your parents who you say aren't connoisseurs? Spend £30-40 and get something else too. Still get VC for that.

Slightly off topic, but is it Moet pronouced "Moe-et" or "moe-ay" ?
Advert on talksport atm pronounces the T at the end, I always thought it was AY
