But in al seriousness they are a bit like chalk and cheese. What would you use it for? If just commuting then the BMW every time. If you want to hoon around then the Golf

Hope to god it's the light making the arse of the Golf look darker.
Quite a hard desicion as they are both nice cars. Think it'll have to be the BMW.

That GTI might not be E10 compatible.

it really depends on what you want really
The 320i's aren't that quick but a nice cruiser but are heavy on fuel as its a pre facelift
The golf's are good cars but for me it would be the BMW
why not try a 130i for similar money but with 265BHP

Are the facelifts all better on fuel (because of ED)? I'm not soo fussed on MPG, as I say it's for commuting (not too much milage but lots of stop start ) and social.
Didn't realise you could get a 130i for that money, possibly be a little too shit on MPG though.
I think I prefer the BMW than the Golf....

the facelifts got more power to 170 BHP while improving mpg. Think your example will be the 150 BHP
Seems a good spec with bluetooth and leather and the 18's which are optional on 4 pots
130i example here- slightly more money

I do like the 3 series though

Monies.
I was thinking newer may be the Efficient Dynamics all the auto press bang on about but probably still too old.

I don't think I could stretch to a good 130i like that.
I think it looks well in Silver and on the optional 18's. I think my minds made up, I am gonna try and test one over xmas if my driving license ever arrives back from being renewed.

Tough choice, both nice in their own ways. Personally I'd choose the BMW, which although that particular one is bland as fuck, it carries a bit more of a prestigious image imo.

Prefer the Golf in that shortlist.
