What would you serve?

just messing about in the kitchen and it got me thinking.

i think id start with smokey bacon potato skins,
then because im from wigan it'd have to be some sort of pie, maybe game pie with spring onion mash
then a light banana split for desert

£1000 in the back pocket

Just before Christmas I did this with a few mates, and I made:

Homemade Smoked Salmon Paté and a selection of crackers/biscuits etc while they were waiting

Homemade Broccoli and Stilton soup with my own homemade bread

Chickenbreast stuffed with Gorgonzola and Cranberry, wrapped in Pancetta and on a bed of Asparagus

Homemade Lemon Sorbet for desert!

Good fun

They were really impressed with the Paté but it takes 5 fucking minutes to make

sounds quality. ive done stuffed chicken breast before, wrapped in smokey bacon though, stuffed with mozzarella. was nice. like how you finished with a light desert. always think its stupid when they serve up a heavey main followed by some kind of cake.

just taken my "from scratch" pizza out the oven. blended 6 tomatoes with 1 red pepper, salt, brown sugar and itallian herbs. made a thin base.. not too much cheese.. looks ace

exactly what my mates sister in law said. they were filming in her house for over 6 hours, there were hours between courses, they were given subjects to talk about, and the taxis at the end of the night only drove roudn the block while they filmed
she said they made it look like people werent getting on when in reality everyone was really well

I would go with her epic smoked haddock chowder to start. For the main I would be torn between going all out on a beef wellington (proper one with the crepe between the duxelles and pastry etc) with some poncy fondant potatos or just slap a big piece of fillet steak on a plate with a nice homemade peppercorn sauce and leek mash. Probably do something light for desert, lemon cheesecake or something (not really interested in deserts when cooking )

If I had vegeterians I would give them vegetables
