Hi offday.
Another tattoo thread.
Unfortuantly there wont be any pictures as these threads always turn sour.
But, started my chineese sleeve yesterday.
Upper arm is a Tiger, forearm is a cobra and lotus flower.
However, im not sure on the shading...
..For longevity im guessing detailed colours (tiger yellow/orange, snake greens) would fade a lot faster?
Does anyone have experience with coloured tattoos - of their own [i can find pictures on the net] and how they fair after 5/ 10 years?.
cheers

Thread seems to have turned sour already mate Would be interesting to see how that sort of tattoo will cope with time and ageing!

This is pretty useless without pictures TBH. Seeing as soon as you post everyone will slag them off, I'd post on another forum

If necessary you could ingnore most of my first post and just read the closing line.
Negating the need for pictures?
I thought it may be helpful I share a little insight as to the colours i am particularly intrested in.

I had a lot of colour work done on my thigh and after as little as a year that's started to fade. Doesn't look bad at all, but I've certainly noticed a difference. Getting it extended up my hip and onto my ribs in a couple of weeks, will get colour touched up then

when you first get colour tattoos, the shading seems ALOT darker than what it will end up.
as for the colour worry, its reacts to the pigments in your skin, so the more pigments. the duller it will be.
however, the ink they use has come on a long way in the last few years, so when you see old boys with faded down colour tatttoos, the ink they use now will never be that bad.
agreed though, pictures are a necessity in a tattoo thread.
but if you were after a jap style sleeve, your choosing the right kind of things.

modern ink is a lot better than older stuff. in 20 years your tattoo wont look anywhere near as bad as a 20 year old tattoo looks today

Get something else on your inner bicep, plenty room there for something else.

What are you getting in between the main parts? Whats tying it all together?

No you have the same tattoo every other Tom, Dick and Harry has. Unbelievable comment about originality from a guy with a tribal tattoo

I've had mine for 14 years not my fault I'm a trend setter
Getting one now would be 1 out of 10 however just like Koi Fish and tigers etc etc. Hence my comment
