Not greenstuff. Ferodo DS 2500 are always highly regarded, if a little pricey.

Steer clear of ebc their shit.

M1155 would be the best bet of them two

I would have a look and see if Carbotech do some that fit. They are meant to be very good.

I've tried the following performance pads in order of my rating (1st worst)

Pagid Blue (RS4-2 is it?)
Mintex 1144
Mintex Extreme
Mintex 1155
Ferrodo DS2500
Carbotech XP8
Ferrodo DS3000
Carbotech XP10
Carbotech XP12

For fast road i'd be looking at XP8s or DS2500

they work well from cold..... unlike the DS3000's

They are an ideal fast road pad.

Many aftermarket parts will say 'for motorsport use' or such like.

The DS2500 are what I run on mine as an everyday pad in my Alcon's and they are really good. Bite well from cold. Use them on track also and they work really well.

not sure i'd match the rear pads to the front.... for sheer expense anyway

On both our track cars we use stuff like Mintex extreme on the rears....

I think it's some stupid reg where aftermarket pads have to be within a certain percentage of OE spec. These fall outside that range simply by being better. That could be internet bullshit though .

Either way you won't go far wrong with DS2500 for road/occasional track use.

There is another brand that are meant to be the same as the DS2500 (made in same factory) but I can't think of it off the top of my head.

I've got the ds2500 pads on mine and there pretty good. I know people say the ebc stuff is shit but I had the green stuff pads on my 106gti coupled with brembo max discs and they were superb with very little dust. I then had the yellow stuff pads on the Evo with standard discs and they were just as good but squealed a bit. There a lot cheaper than the ferodo pads as well.

I had ds3000s on my 106 gti - my god they were crap when cold certainly wouldnt have them on the road again - getting teh heat into them and then keeping it there just insnt possible day to day on the road

I ran DS2500 on my Corsa with the V6 brakes and they were great, very impressive.

I couldn't say the same about the Red Dot pads I had with the 1.6 brakes though - appalling from cold, and faded way too easily when hot too.

Personally I would go with EBC but I'm a bit biased as I get 60% off retail. The guy who owns them is a good friend of the bosses!

I think my ebc yellows are awesome for fast road use. Plenty of bite from cold, very good with some heat into them.

There noisey though.

DS2500 all the way. Progressive feel, unlike the stock Brembo pads. Braking power seems to increase the harder you stomp on the pedal whereas the Brembo stuff doesn't give that feeling.

Didn't like the EBC yellows, they were ok to start off with but then seemed to go dangerously shite, no bite, pedal had no feel and they just didn't slow me down properly at all.

Put a set of Mintex 1144 in and nearly went through the windscreen before they were even bedded in They are quite noisy but excellent bite and stopping power

if its seeing any tracks I'd not advise the 1144's.

I had them for a while on my corsa and didnt like them at all.

Strange folks opinions differ so much!

It is as that was all I ever used on my corsa and I couldn't rate them highly enough.

Different horses for different coarses.

I used to use DS2500 but found they were "heat cracking" so have changed to DS3000, but bare is mind they are harder on the discs and slighly worse when cold but Monty is used hard so work great for me wouldn't touch EBC....

the 3000s are much harsher on discs.

Whats "heat cracking"? Do you mean a glazing then surface break up on the pad?

I've had that with both 2500 and 3000s. Normally after being a bit of a bufty on the brakes - holding a steady light pressure brake for a long time. i.e braking lightly from a high speed rather than a hard/fast brake.

I cleaned/roughed them up with a bit of sandpaper
