Fully loaded sport (memory electrics, sunroof, satnav, tv, dvd etc.), 2004 last of the pre-face lift.. Missus old man bought a load of dead beemers from a big dealership and picked this up with a dead turbo for peanuts and thought I'd keep it
Managed to get a re-con turbo for a few squids and she's all up and running.
I'm well happy with her!

What engine is it?
I had a 3.0D and the box went, so be wary about that.

Its a sport so yeah 3.0D .. The GM boxes tend to have issues if they arent serviced regularly but even so its only the valve bodies that fuck up which isnt too expensive.

Would love to have a black X5, the BMW repair costs put me off though. It would probably sitting on the garden for 2-3 months if something major went wrong.

Ironically enough the previous owner was in the same situation, he took it to BMW with a blown turbo and they wanted nearly £2k... It was sat at the garage for months.

Always liked the old shape until the new shape came out, now really like the new shape.
Currently own a 5 series and begrudge paying £300 for a new tyre.

Not really an issue with a fully fitted workshop and a BMW trade account at your disposal
Cost me (obviously doing the labour myself) £380 to replace the turbo for a Garrett recon.. Joe blogs would be paying closer to £2k with labour..
..Anyway its an old one, bits arent so bad.

Aint been funny but if he could not afford £2k then maybe he should have had a corsa
