Is this in a straight line, uphill, downhill, off a cliff, blowing up, quicker to fill with petrol, faster to get in the back seats...
Please define 'Faster'

Well the Gsi owner reckons the V6 vectra has no pick up, thats his excuse for saying the cav is faster. All i can think of is that he is referring to the heavy flywheel (15kg) but the vectra still has an extra 20bhp and 20lb/ft torque. How big is the weight difference?

I`d really like to see the difference Courtenays lightened flywheel would make to the V6 Engine.

so do you think the differences are that small that it would probably come down to driver skill?? This Gsi owner is a ned btw and needs punishing

Lets say both cars down the 1/4, and i have to agree its a bit of a slug off the line, although traction isnt a problem and i think with the lighter flywheel and the torque its got it would shift off the line pretty well.

if we are gonna start talkin diff conditions then it really will vary. my car has feck all traction in the wet...i can get it to spin in third...then thers the downhill theory

id be quite happy to put my money on the veccy but i think it would be very close

anyone care to race

I believe it would be close, but the Vectra would have the edge.

Would come down to the driver.

yeah, its really obvious this car is set up as a high powered cruiser rather than a high powered bruiser, tbh I am a little dissappointed with the performance after evaluating it over the last few months.

Cavalier would probably be faster to 60 as the car+engine etc. is lighter, but you will probably get more mph out of the C/X25XE.

CS15 +Package - increase of 30bhp with lightening throttle response
Remap

Injector clean

Airbox and induction rework

Performance high flow filter

Reworked high flow throttle body and inlet centre section

High flow inlet manifold divider

4 bar fuel pressure regulator

Lightened flywheel (9 kgs reduction)
£1475 Fitted

Think i need that from Courtenay, Dont sound like much when you just look at the BHP increase but reckon it would really transform the car.

Courtenay's prices are like Vauxhall's; astronomical.

Kerry, im not moaning, just saying im a little disappointed with it. its a 99 facelift model so its looks the part and has got the lotus tuned (snigger) suspension, it just lacks punch. The Gsi engine has the exhaust cams from the 3.0 omega lump, that is the only difference between the engines, these are £700 fitted and give that extra 20bhp and 0.4 secs of 0-60.

Adam, yeah the flywheel is a heavy barstid 15kg
