Are now at £1.62 a litre
quote: Today fuel prices in the countries biggest fuel-chain hit almost 15 kroner per liter. ($10 per gallon) The Statoil-stations have raised the price per liter for liter 95 oktan fuel to 14.83 kroner.
This means that the fuel prices in the almost 500 Statoil-stations will today be record high.
Middle Eastern worries raise prices
Pål Heldaas in Statoil Fuel explains the raise in prices is connected to international political unrest.
- The fact that USA have strengthened sanctions against Iran, at the same time as there's been attacks against oil pipelines in Nigeria and Syria has caused the raise in prices for both raw and refined diesel and petrol, which results in our purchasing cost being higher.
- This is not a dramatic change, but the change of 10 øre (50 cent) means we pass the earlier top of 14,79 kroner.

I was thinking that Norway was a more expensive country to live in anyway? I'm sure a pint is like £7 or something...?

I work in Norway, most people I have spoke to is on an average of £18 to £22 per hour!
Place is silly expensive to live in, pint from around £6 to £9 depends on where u go! I ordered a burger and chips first day I got here and about dropped to the floor when I was charged £18!
If working and staying here you can afford the prices coming here on holiday I'd think twice!

This is what they said:
quote: Based on what I've heard there is no minimum wage here. I know at least with no proper education you can easily earn around £13/$20 an hour, in let's say a grocery store.
quote: There's no law in Norway that sets a minimum wage, but pretty much anywhere, anything under 100NOK ($17, 11£) is considered unacceptable for anyone above the age of 18,

Everything there is more expensive than here though, so it's all relative...

The fuel is relatively cheap though, which was his point.
£1.62/l at 1/6th of minimum wage still makes it around £1/l compared to UK prices.

Same as us I think. It is really expensive over there, but as someone said it is all relative, although I wouldn`t want to live there.

Most people do on here by the bragging rights threads. I'm just a delivery driver for a tyre company. Due to me living in the north it's the equivalent to a 40k wage in the south.
