That kind of site should take a day tops, assuming you don't want some kind of content management system for the gallery.
You could even get something that just reads from a file structure if you wanted a simple way to manage the images. Then you just need to upload images to the host and it would work.

Sounds like something wordpress would be good at?
You can build a half tidy site yourself on it using google to do things you want to do etc.

This.
But of course you need to know a few basics and depending on what host you have.
Some hosts have one click web applications to install / others will just offer the database for you to manually install, while other will have no database at all.
Ive just whipped up a couple of wordpress sites myself (one for a friend and another for the dive club im a member of).
I liked the theme so much (I paid $30 for it) that I used it on both sites.
currently hosted below;
http://www.bridgesltd.co.uk/preschool
http://www.streetdivers.co.uk/new
neither is complete, still a reasonable amount to do, but with wordpress its all about building blocks rather than code.

For your Photography? I'd just get a WordPress template and mess around with it.
A good website for templates is; http://themeforest.net/category/wordpress
If you know where to look you can get the templates for free if you just want to tinker with them, then buy the license after (save getting yourself in trouble, especially if you're advertising it).

Mentioned Wordpress in Welly's thread - http://www.corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=627025&highlight=1&pid=8300210#pid8300210
Themeforest is a good shout though, plenty of 'light' themes about and they are pretty cheap.
Bart - What theme did you use for your sites?

I'll bandwagon WordPress too - can find a theme that supports gallery post types, tweak one do do it or use a gallery plugin. Loads of options, plugins and info out there

Looks like it's called "Peekaboo" according to the theme location in the HTML.

I've never used Wordpress tbh. I've seen awesome results. Really want to give it a try. But nothing to use it for ATM.
What's shopping cart like? (top selling one I forget the name)

If you mean change the font style/weight/size then yes.
Changing font names requires editing the CSS file or applying a 'style' to some highlighted text.

If you use a font you downloaded from somewhere, then chances are a lot of people won't have it so you'd have to fall back on whatever the default font is in your browser unless you've specified it in your CSS file, i.e.:
font-family: Tahoma, Verdana, sans-serif;
The above line says Tahoma is your #1 font choice, if the user doesn't have that installed on their system then use Verdana, and again if that's not available just use a sans-serif font.
I can't remember but I think you can save the font on your web server and specify the location of it in the CSS file so it's automatically downloaded - I'm sure someone else with a better knowledge of fonts will come along and confirm, but there is also the problem of licensing for said font if you're bothered about such things (a lot of the time free fonts off the web or wherever are only allowed for personal use, you can't distribute them like on your website for example).

Bart I've used ThemeForest a few times, although themes for stuff on there are quite good generally there are some that you have to tweak due to sloppy coding or whatever.

Use Cufon; usual method of using fonts outside the standard browser set.

I'm currently in a right pickle because of their style sheet, which has 5000 lines

I use the Google Web Font API for virtually all the websites I do (got a bit bored of Georgia, Helvetica and Tahoma a while ago). Plenty of good, open source fonts on there:
http://www.google.com/webfonts
Word of warning though, some of them render like dog shit mixed with puke on Windows, especially in IE - I've absolutely no idea why though.
