As title really, had the Golf on Gumtree for 2 weeeks now, just being offered straight swaps for cars that i dont want, or are worth nowhere near what i want for the Golf.
Is it worth the ridiculous listing and end fee's to hope the buyer turns up?
Fed up looking at it, desperate to get a B' project on the go.

Sold my Corsa after just 5 days of being on eGay but my dad's Golf never sold on there despite lots of watchers. Its abit hit and miss sometimes me thinks.
Just curious, whats Gumtree like? I thought it was abit dodgy but alot of ppls seem to use it now.

Ebay is good, not for selling cars i've found but for advertisement.
I usually find many people wanting to come view and offer straight cash there and then.

this might sound stupid but i use all sorts of sites including Facebook and iv had more success selling on facebook than anywere els just by taging people in the pic.
cars do sell on e-bay but you run the risk like you said not turning up or even turning up and walking away worth a try if you do it put on the advert non refunderbal deposit withing 24 hours of aution end

It's alright, you can break it right down to local cars etc but there is a lot of shite on it.
Managed to shift my old mans mondeo easily because he just wanted to swap it.

I bought and sold large majority of my cars and motorbike via ebay.
From a few hundred quid to £7000. Ive never had any look with auto trader, not even a call. I bought my current tdi golf on ebay this week.

Just use eBay Classified Ad's.. That way the listing runs for 28 days and you don thave to worry about some gimp winning and not paying.

It will definitely sell on eBay, but chances are it will do nowhere near it's true value, everyone wants everything for nothing on there.
Then, it has so many time wasters, the chances are the winning bidder will have 0 feedback, is 400 miles away and doesn't turn up.
Then all the genuine bidders, dont accept the 2nd chance offers because they think you were bidding it up on a mates account, which you probably were tbh.........
I use eBay as a last resort. Auto Trader and Gumtree is the best imo.

I sold my freelander within 25mins of putting it on eBay..
My advise would be use the classified ad with best offer - it cost me like £15 for a 30 day listing and theres no final value fee
Wouldnt bother with an auction - waste of time

I bought both my cars off eBay, but didn't bid so much as go round and offer them cash. Sold my old B on pistonheads in the end. Had interest on eBay but mostly offers way below the listed price. I did get one offer for £60 more than it sold for in the end, good old hindsight

best experiance iv had with buying a car via ebay is the ones with a reserve on.
my current corsa ended on £320ish reserve not met, cos people tend to avoid reserve auction... so i kindly messaged the lad a £500 offer after it had ended (already aware his reserve was £600) he said aye come and view. extra bartering upon viewing lead to me getting it for £420 hahaha
v reg 1.6 sport with full jamex kit, exhaust, astra alloys and a dirty engine bay hahaha...
now people say i'd fetch about a grand and i haven't spelt a great deal on it
it had a lot of test too

Sold my Punto through eBay Classifieds ad.
Nothing else worked, including paying for AutoTrader.
