Has anyone worked in a job where they conduct this, or volunteered to take part to have drugs tested on them? Just been reading up online and besides the obvious potential problems, money seems good! Anyone know anyone who's done it?

I'd just like to clarify that I've no intention of trying it, just wondered if anyone has any interesting stories. Was amazed reading that they pay up to £3500 on some studies

Munchie used to do it, not sure if he still does.

I also have a mate who did it and was fine afterwards, said it was a bit boring but you're paid well.

Wasn't there a thread about a guy doing it last year?

He was the only person that stuck with it, so the nurses were told to wait on him as they wanted to keep him happy, so he would stay.

I'm in the health sector and although the media only document rare one-offs, in general they're pretty much non-effective after the trial period.

There's plenty of private companies doing it and paying on average £100-120 per day, but require a short hospital stay for two reasons:

1) To ensure you're supervised in administering the drugs/therapies so you don't just pretend you've taken them.

2) In the rare event that anything went wrong, you're in the healthcare setting where further acute treatment can be carried out.

What area of the health sector are you in? I'm interested in taking part in one of the trials, wondered if you knew a bit about what it all entails.

Meeeeeeee

I worked at Icon in Manchester for 4 years and now working for Cancer Research monitoring trials for people with pancreatic cancer.

I can explain in great detail what the trials are like but I would need to know a little information about the trials

Do not hesitate to contact me
