...at superstores. i.e asda were i work

we went in as customers to do our shopping and finally found a space... two infact (well 1 and a half) as the car that WAS beside me was over the line about a foot or so. so i parked over the 1 and a half spaces that we're left to avoid bumping their car and to avoid getting mine bumped. came out and the elderly lady who was on car park shift was writing me a ticket out... i explained nicely please dont... all the usual... come on i work here man bollocks, but she carried on writing it. so i literately chucked the shopping in the boot and drove off not giving her chance to stick the sticker on
no doubt il get wrong when im in on shift tonight but what the hey...

iv had a couple of other parking tickets in the past... 1 i disputed and claimed they hadn't observed my car long enough, which i ended up getting off with
iv also HEARD (off a few people including colleges) that asda actually have no legal rites to fine you, its more so to scare you and 90 odd % pay up, is this true and what would you do in my situation?

obviously dont park over two spaces i know but that was my only option

just been reading up a few iv found via google and the first 4 or 5 iv read are all saying the same thing... ITS A LOAD OF BULLSHIT!! dont pay... i will apparently get 1 letter asking to pay £25 then later a 2nd saying a £10 admin fee have been added including a 14 day deadline before it goes to a debt collecting company, which is also bull!!

any more confirmation on this will be great

Get a hold of the CCTV footage and send them a copy. Surely the car next to you would have received a ticket as well.

Anything other than a Police/Council ticket is not worth a wank, its a invoice between the company and the driver IIRC. Just ignore it.

cheers lads. iv also been onto the citizens advice and their saying the same thing... fair enough i was in the wrong for parking over the line and its still my fault even though the car next to me was (which didn't get a ticket cos the inspectors a fat bloater that couldn't get there quick enough )
she didn't actually stick the sticker on my car which is the legal binding document and the company PPC is a load of dog muck

just hope i dont get wrong when i go in for shift tonight

cheers

for some further info on council ones for peoples future reference - you can get off with them if they haven't observed your car for the correct amount of time if its a pay and display zone.
got off with that one before

i got one before when i worked at scummerfields.

i just told the bloke it was my car and he cancelled it for me.

we weren't supposed to park up there though. asda auperstore is a bit different as they usually have about 20,000 spaces. i think you'll be fine.

Also, if your car has more than one person on the insurance policy, they could never prove who parked the car without photographic evidence which they wouldnt have anyway so its impossible to charge anyone legally.

Aldi do it up here, halfords have someone as well and saw signs at tesco saying its in force. Allowed 2 hours free parking, to stop people parking there all day for work or going into town
