does anyone have any experience of this or had it done?

i'd guess it's cheaper than brick paving, but is it as good as it, if not better?

need to do my front ''garden'' which just has some chipped bark

i like this kind of style:

old pic, but it shows the size of the area needing to be done. 12'x13' (156 sq ft).

So much better to pave it. Took me and my old man less than a day to do our old house.

not sure if i've seen anyone with this done around here, though from a distance it does look like normal brick/block so may not have noticed.

A friends folks had it done, something similar to the picture of the English Slate, and they just said it got a bit slippery when wet. It did look good though.

it does, can't be that bad though or people wouldn't get it done.

Not a fan of faking effects, and its not like your garden is big.

Do a proper job, will look far nicer.

They look great I think. Better than shitty block paving.

I had it done at our old house, far better than block paving. It's harder wearing as its a foot deep, nothing grows through it like with block paving and there is an endless choice of styles and colours. Ours always looked wet and glossy but was never slippery. It's not cheap though!

the problem is it's not level so will take time to get it all done properly.

whereas this will be much cheaper and faster.

Won't need weeding either unlike block paving or slabs.

Same could be said for spray on render, still looks crappy.

Pros: Looks modern and clean, Low maintenance, Doesn't sink like block paving and flags,

Cons: Slippery when wet, If they cut corners the dye comes out and it looks patchy, can be expensive

Grandparents had this done about 7 years ago, patio and driveway. Still looks like new and is never slippery at all.

If done right paving and slab wont, when I re-did my garden I used the right fabric weed control and in 2 years never had 1 weed come up through.

Probably cheaper to lay sets than have that done and will look better / last longer.

How stable is the ground in the area, slight movement of sub base and the top cracks. Or is it covered for 30 years against that?
