Got caught speeding tonight, 58 in a 30 (Yes, ill die in hell, etc etc)

Whats the craic on them being "visable". Unmarked car caught me, sitting way back in a farm road junction in the pitch black, didnt even see them till they pulled out to give chase.

Quite admit I was wrong, but would be good if I could avoid points and a fine! First time ive ever been done with any driving offence Been driving 4 years.

I read you only get the awareness course if it's your first offence and it's just a few mph over the limit, like doing 37 in a 30

Anyone know about the viablity thing? Read somewhere that there has to be 150 meters of clear visibilty from where they caught you, they have to be wearing high viz and they have to show you the gun with the speed and the calibration certificate for that gun for that day.

They wernt visable at all, no high vis, showed me the gun but no certificate?

Clutching at straws here

visable?? it was an unmarked car! did you want them to have a big neon sign saying unmarked police above them?

accept the punishment and stop bitching

Used to be a 60 if that helps

Not bitching, just seeing if I can get a bit off the points! Would rather 3 and a larger fine. Just have to see what happens.

Take the three points. Everybody speeds

Round here they hide their marked police cars round the road and leap out of bushes etc with their speed cameras

No chance of speed awareness

Traffic cars have funny laws. Even in marked, not fully sure

Awareness course is once every 4 years, eg you got points you won't be eligible.

Normally 10% plus 3/4mph it similar, eg 30 zone, 10% = 3 + 3/4 = 36/7mph

I got caught doing 66 in a 40, first offence, didnt get a chance on speed awareness course, got referred straight to court, I plead guilty by post and wrote a bit speech in mitigating circumstances why they shouldnt ban me, got 184 pound fine and 6 points but no ban, my insurance didnt even go up with it on either

All complete bollocks. I got caught on a motorway doing 94 and went on the speed awareness course. Not my first offence either. They say education is key to better driving so want everyone to do the course. 4 hour course and some of it is actually interesting.

Bit of a twat doing that speed in a 30 tbh.

I doubt you would get speed awareness course as it is 10% then 3/4 mph.

You get it with the above and if its your first speeding offence in 2 years or something.

It used to be a 60

It's in the sticks too, population of 3 sheep and a farmer with a dog.
