One of a series I shot yesterday for a band. 2 flash heads used, 1 lead behind and above camera, one slave to right.

Nice shot but the bright yellow wheel attracts my attention rather than the people themselves

I'd be cropping out half the wheel and some of the top of the picture.

Its a decent atmospheric shot but they're tiny in the frame.

To be honest, I just shot it leaving plenty of space for editorial. That space to the left will be toned down and used for text mostly. This is just the full frame, it'll be cropped and played with to suit in its final phase no doubt, i'm not involved with that though.

That looks better imo, but personally still feel theres too much wheel, the main focal point should be the band, but my attention is still drawn straight to the wheel

The side where the wheel is is for editorial, i.e. copy / text. Thats why its still in there, in the series of 30 images there are at least 5 with the same space to either side. If I was just shooting the images for use purely as images then I would have reframed them. i'll find an example of another in the series not intended for text.
