The more I look the more I want and if I get a new job that pays more, the Mazda will go in favour for one.
An early (pre-rape tax) 2.8i in blue, black or silver. Not really fussed on spec, don't need/want AC or anything fancy like that. Don't really like the blue/red interior though.
Any horror stories/what I should watch out for? Servicing? Maintenance (baring in mind I do everything on the Mazda myself)?
A wide arch one would be cool as well.
Post some pics as well !
Oh and I don't want a Z3M as I can't insure it

Very cheap these now, bit feminine mind. Mum never had any probs with her back in the day that I'm aware of, her 3.0 one was quick.

I think they're cool Dave! You'll slowly work your way into a boxster 986, at this rate.

I have never had the 2.8 but have had the 1.9 and about 5 3.2ZM's. They are a really different car to the s2000; feel bigger inside; not as harsh a ride and feel a bit more refined inside. Also the sound of the straigh 6 is lovely. All of mine i have had no issues; not sure if the early 2.8's would suffer from the Nicisali engine issues like some of the e36's did; but apart from that i havent heard anything bad.
Here are my old ones
and the M's

PMSL At the gay comments about Z3ms.
320 bhp RWD short wheelbase and no TC.
Proper girls car that.
Pow, they are a bit cheap on the inside compared with most BMWs. Still feel nice though, cabin is very cosy and an excellent driving position. 2.8 will still be quick.
Watchout for the subframe coming away from the body. Open the boot, remove carpet and check the spot welds. If they have all rusted or come out then don't buy it as it will cost lots to fix
