A lot of companies do though, just another way of keeping the employees happy.

Was with a massive company for a while, as many free hot chocolates, teas and coffees as you liked but not free food.

Am surprised they have an RF anechoic chamber but i suppose they didn't want to be shipping prototype gear to third-parties. Certainly an experience to stand in one though, very odd places to be.

Are you suggesting that because the ten companies you worked for didn't supply free food that it doesn't happen?

See, I agree with Russ, and i guess it depends on your personality and views to which sort of motivational theory you would follow.

If i was running an industry leading bussiness, i would deffo be going down the route of facebook (masses of employee benefits, free facilitiys, free food etc), well certainly for a large part of the business, the creative side, they want their employees to be at the top of their game, they will be more productive in a happy and relaxed workplace, i dont think they need the threat of 'loosing their jobs as they can be replaced at anytime'. And to be honest, if Apple dont have the best people in that role already they are doing something wrong.

I think a happy workforce is definitely better. Can't stand over claustraphobic companies that ban every non work related action, within reason of course living on the theory that you are expendable so we will treat you how we like.

That job filled within minutes of quiting comment completely misunderstands who a company like apple employs.

It does look dated inside now. Presumably that's why they're about to build a new one..
