Thought i'd post this, mainly so I don't piss Bart of with u2u's
I know a few of you have pretty cool skins & layouts on YAMJ on your PCH box... pics?
I'm unsure what layout and skin to use, I remember seeing one a while back on here, looked amazing! Would love to replicate it.
Any good sites to get skins off etc? Google it and no doubt its for the wrong version or its buggy as hell, want one that just works...
Thank you Kindly..

When I had one I used this website; http://www.networkedmediatank.com/
The AEON Flux skin I think I had, the best one out there at the time.

XBMC with an Acer Revo beats NMT's though

1TB yes. If you're planning on putting it inside the PCH then it will need formatting before hand, soy you'll either have to copy the files else where before hand, or just use the USB port with a USB caddy.

Having a mare
It's just the Network Share thing i'm stuck on... all the guides, its different. Says I should be putting some samba bollocks in, but it only allows an IP.
Got all the YAMJ stuff ready and downloaded / in place, just cant make it accept my network files.
I can see it in the list, and play a film off it, just not under my network shares....!

Yay, HTPC thread I have one, it started off as a standard HP buiness PC, I was given it for free. It looks like this (clicky), so it looks fairly neat and sleek.
I upgraded it to an AMD Althon64 x2 5000+, 4GB RAM, and a HD5450 for HDMI output. Also chucked in a 2TB Samsung F4 while they were cheap (£55!) last year.
I've got about 60 films and over 1000 TV episodes on there so far, will get more films on when I have the time I mostly use XBMC, but use MWC for the TV tuner which is a BlackGold BGT3620, twin Freeview HD tuner
Eventually I want a proper HTPC case, but a nice one will set me back around £150! So it can stay as it is for now

If it's like the a110 you need to format it to EXT3. However I'm not 100% as I think I've read it might have changed

So you can't access your network shares (guessing they are Window shares?)? Have you got the Workgroup set correctly? Have you tried using using the path format "smb://ip/directory"?

use the YAMJ GUI config, it should set all that automatically.

Aye, but it only allows an IP address, not a URL.

Said in the guide to get it sorted first, so will try that tonight after work

IIRC I think your shares want to be setup as SMB (not samba).
Protocol: SMB
IP Hostname; IP Address of your PC (make sure you have a fixed IP address otherwise your router etc will regularly change this)
Share Folder: your shared folder name (i.e when you type in "\\PC_IP_ADDRESS" into the address bar, this is the first folder displayed
Share Name: this can be anythin you like. try to keep it simple, no spaces or caps etc.
Username/Pass you'll need to set this up on the PC and ensure that username has privilages on the PC.
With Windows 7 you may need to adjust some homegroup settings, ive never played with it though.
heres a good run down of someone trying to do the same.

The IP i've been using is direct to my storage
Edit: I'm assuming this is so it connects to the PC so I can add whats viewed? It's the storage i need it pointing to ideally.

Where are your videos stored? I thought they was on the PC?
Is it a NAS?

Videos are stored on 2x external network hd's on 1 IP atm. Not NAS.
I'll be getting some Synology equipment, but not just yet, due to the cost and saving for house deposit.

As mentioned, use the YAMJ config tool, worked perfectly for me when I had the A110.
