Bought this tonight. Had been abandoned and was being sent to the scrapy so decided it was too good to let that happen. Bought it and will get it back on the road in next few months.
Any tips for the paintwork? Had a quick go at the back quarter and its coming up but could do with a quicker way.

Best bit!

Had been left to rot, didnt run and just been neglected. Guy had owned it for 8 years and bought a new car so this just got parked up.
Got it running with my mate within half an hour and gave it a quick wash. Doesn't look to bad mot wise but will give it a once over properly this weekend. Will do a belt change and that first to be safe then get it tarted up.

Yeh I know but if it proves to be reliable I'll more than likely be keeping it for a good while so will end up being painted eventually.

Doesn't look like it needs painting. A good mop and keep ontop of it with a regular polish and wax.

as Graeme said a good mopping and then stay ontop of cleaning it. That's what causes the fading in the first place, people neglecting their cars.

Cavs are quite nice and comfortable for long journeys, and feel solid as well.
I reckon if you got it serviced/MOT'd and polished the paintwork up you could probably sell this on for profit.
