Purchased the bose cinemate gs series ii to go with my 55" hx923 tv.
Sound is fantastic, i used to have a denon 5.1 and a sony 5.1 before that, this new bose is miles ahead of the rest.
universal remote controls everything.
Show me yours.

Any reason you got the bose over an amp and some speakers?

We're looking at the technology, not the décor of his lounge
John - Was probably a DHT (500 etc) 'all-in-one' rather than a decent Denon Amp and speaker package. Personally i wouldn't have opt'd for Bose but personal opinions and all that.
Edit - Also, the size of that remote

Is the Bose kit any good or are you paying £250 for speakers and £500 for a Bose badge?
I'm looking for a decent 2.1 setup as I have OCD about how messy 5.1 looks

Hide the cables and it's not messy.
You can get small speakers.
Bose stuff is normally quite good but not as good as other stuff at the same price.

Sound quality is just as important as picture quality. STD TVs have shite speakers most of the time.

It's become even worse with LED backlit screens due to space constraints ie: smaller drivers and enclosures.

Definitely! I ignored sound quality ratings when I was TV hunting.

Fair enough it does have better quality. But whats wrong with the quality of a normal tv
I mean, does the stupid amount of money you probly spent on that make your life that much different when you watch eastenders or what ever??

Money wasn't really taken into consideration when buying this , I wanted the best sounding 2.1 system I could find locally. Yes it really does make a difference , there is no bass from the tv at all. It has a docking station for my tunes as well.
