After having to break my c20xe corsa, I'm looking to join the subtle mod scene.. I'm looking at a 1.4 16v skoda fabia. I'm only 19 and I have no NCB, just wondering what you all think of these cars? The only problem I have is that they beer made a 3 door model thanks lads

I wouldn't be buying an old shape 1.4, will be a terrible car.
The vRS isn't exactly high specced, the interior of the lesser models is rubbish.
Must be able to get something much nicer and newer but still good on insurance for that budget.

Yep, if i had £4-£6k to spend on a car, a 1.4 Skoda Fabia certainly wouldn't be on the list.

So what would be on the list, just out of curiosity? Same question to you John.

Get quotes on a 1.9 130 Ibiza fr possibly, or even a vRS.
Will probably be quicker than anything petrol he can get insured on.

I think when my wife bought her 08 plate Fabia 1.6 last year it was about £6k or £7k, it's a Fabia '3' and only had about 14k on the clock!
16" alloys, front fogs, climate control etc. etc.

Going by this thread he had a c20xe corsa so it must be possible to insure something better than an old shitty fabia.
However if you didnt insure the 2.0 then what about a corsa d? 4k could get you a half decent one and with the right mods they can look great imo.

The c20xe wasn't declared . That's why I opened this thread tbh, I want a car that's quite nippy aswell as great visual mods, I just can't afford alot insurance wise as my age

I would get a small engined car for a few years until insurance gets better. Like i say for around your budget a corsa D is a good option, whether the 1.3cdti or the 1.2 petrol.

There's plenty of decent looking hatches to go for, just have a good look around and see which you like best. I really wouldnt get a fabia though

He also said something nippy. IIRC the 1.2 Corsa D's aren't nippy.
