i want something thats not to old, quite nippy, reliable and relatively cheap to insure

youll prob all hate me for this but been looking at either a Fiesta ST or Clio 182

Pistonheads>classifieds>search>£4k max price>GO.

The above will give you a better idea of what other cars are available in your budget.

Don't mean that to be arsey, just an idea to give you ideas.

Clio sports are cheap as hell now. Can probably pick up a 172 and 182 for 4k.

Blimey Got lucky with mine log book came back the other week and I'm the 3rd so it must have been good to the other two owners who had it 4 years each

To the OP have you done insurance quotes for the Fiesta? I found my Zetec-s relatively expensive to insure for what it was. Not sure if it's due to my area as it's rare to see one that hasn't had bits removed.

Diesels are pretty reliable but yeah they are expensive when they go wrong.

Torque is much more usable on the road then bhp though.

I just think it will be hard to sell if it's got loads of owners he's knocked the price down a bit more so it must be putting people off
