right, to put it simply.
is there anywhere that can tell me the differences between each make, and basically which air filter would be the greatest one to get for letting the most air in? obviously no filter would be best but in the real world with dust and shite, not possible.
k+n
pipercross
green filters
itg
etc. need one with a neck is of 100 ish as inlet is 4"
i only use the green one that i have now as i got it from a mate for next to nothing brand new.
edit, this is for my corsa turbo before someone says std air box.

mashed and twisted and about 5 years old so fancied a change really. nothing up with it other than cosmetic shite, still flows/works well enough.
will have to get the dimensions of what I've got now and see what size i need. its a 4" inlet though and maybe 200mm in length

Twin cone green, more surface area so more air flow. That's going to apply to any and I don't think I've seen many twin cones from the other brands and green are great

I used to work for a parts factor and looked after all the aftermarket sales side of things, I was always a fan of Pipercross, but after working in the trade and talking to the reps, specialists and customers who used filters for kit cars, track cars etc. I moved to K&N and have always stuck with them.
Pipercross are good, but because they are sponge, they clog up very easily even if you clean them regular. K&N and I beleive Green Cotton are the same, are constructed of Paper, Gause and Wire mesh, this creates a better air flow whilst still working well as a filter

I've not seen them in the size i need i don't think.
problem i have is when i want to remove headlight to put filter in its place the green one i have is 360 degree round but no straight on if that makes sense whereas the itg, and hks would be. borrowed an his one for a dyno run once and it lose about 30bhp if i remember rightly.
always preferred k plus n or green to piper cross yeah.
oh forgot about ram air actually

I've used K&N on all my cars and it seems to have good results. The only thing is if you over oil them they can fuck the Maf sensor. A lot of the vag guys rate jetex highly.

A proper hks mushroom one seems to work well and a good size for a tight engine bay

Have you thought about making one yourself?
get the base of a cone filter then cut up a filter with a good flow rate(to get the foam or paper off) an fabricate it onto the end so it looks abit like.
