Possible n00b question here. I signed up to HideMyAss to get a US IP Address. This works great on both my iPad and my PC, with both devices supporting a VPN connection.
I want to get it working with my PS3 and Apple TV also. I'm lead to believe that I need a router that supports VPN connectivity.
My broadband is ADSL, am I right in thinking that I won't be able to get an ADSL router that supports a VPN connection but instead I will need 2 routers, one ADSL router and then one router which connects to the VPN. Is this right, or is there a router that will do everything?

Think I've figured it out.
I've ordered the D-Link DIR-600 (as recommended by HMA here: http://hidemyass.com/vpn/software/routers/ ).
It's not an ADSL router though so I'll have to cascade the 2 routers so that my existing router acts as an ADSL modem.

Would you not need to disable things like dhcp in the ADSL router or you would end up having 2 networks?

Im not an expert, but I think you'll find that D-Link DIR-600 has a dedicated port on the back for an existing modem / modem router.
The D-Link DIR-600 will then become your local gateway which'll also establish a hardware VPN between itself and HMA.
Oceansoul is kinda correct, im sure both devices will have DHCP enabled, so you'll need to disable one of them.

Loads of ADSL routers support VPN's of varying types.

Could have spent £15 on a Linksys and stuck DD-WRT on it.
Either way, i'd see if you can run two networks - one 'normal' and one VPN'd. Saves having to run all your connections through VPN or pee around switching it on and off etc.

The one I ordered was only £15 and I intend to put DD-WRT on it.

Bargain then. Just double check that the DD-WRT version available is the 'full fat' (rather than micro versions) and includes OpenVPN/PPTP.

FFS, finally got round to setting up my shiny new router to have DD-WRT on it.
I bought the D-Link DIR 600 as recommended by HideMyAss. I have revision B5 though and DD-WRT only supports B1/B2.
Been Googling for ages and loads of people have the same problem and there's no solution other than buy a different router.

In hindsight you should have done a little research before purchasing But send it back and either go for the £15 linksys (only certain models and generations) or get something else.

I did do loads of research! I didn't realise there were different revisions.
I'm trying Unblock US now.

Got Unblock US working. It seems good, although one of the things I want it for is stuff like using BBC iPlayer when I'm in Europe, but it seems it only supports a handful of services such as Netflix.
Am I right in thinking that this won't serve my needs?

UnblockUs will give you a UK IP when trying to access iPlayer from abroad

I'd do what Dom said and send it back and get a dd-wrt capable router
