Going to look at a 1.9 diesel turbo Xantia tomorrow as a runaround for a while. Any common problems I should look for when I go to view it?

Depending on the year it will be the same engine as the 306 d turbo, they're pretty bulletproof tbh, can even run them on vegetable oil if you want

Vegetable oil sounds good , its a 1998 model, 110,000miles, full service history and only 1 previous owner. Timing belt done 2 months ago.

Whats the suspension like on them? Quite problematic?

Sounds in good condition, they can do moon miles if regularly serviced, easily 200,000+ , you can turn up the boost and fuel with an allen key too if you fancy it . Don't really know a lot about the suspension tbh, if it's only had the one owner though it should be pretty well looked after.

Tell me about it , my brother's 306 leaves clouds of smoke everywhere , yeah it seems to be really popular in northern ireland for some reason, most of the youtube videos seem to be from there . Can't go wrong for that amount of money, bargain!

Yea it is very popular where I live, almost every car in the town is a 306 or a Xsara with Volcane wheels I'll set the new trend with my Xantia D-turbo , is it hard to screw the turbo's? No smoke no poke

, nope very easy tbh, loads of videos on youtube or guides on the 306 forums if you get stuck, just don't turn the standard turbo up a ridiculous amount like my brother did and blow it up in one day

if it came black in the first place, you would need to paint it white for the points though.

confusing i know.

I'm going to have to get some new DVDs to put all these e-points in I think, does putting a Corrado badge on the back gain me more?

Or will deleting the badges be worth more?

Deleting the badges, repainting them a different colour and sticking them in a new location.

thats be worked out as the method for gaining most points with badges

If you fitted a corrado script badge that had none of the chrome worn off you would be god like. And have a badge worth loadsa money.
