By that I mean, conversions which are fairly well known and can be done as a viable alternative to tuning the existing engine.

ie.

ZLET in to a Corsa C - double the power for a grand.
LEH to replace an LET.
Puma engine in to a Fiesta - extra 20 brake for £300.
Saab engines - cheap donors? Which models?
VAG stuff - are people doing 1.8t conversions - possibly not 'easy' but in to older Golfs etc.?

Any more?

Yeah I left out XE and LET just based on the age of the donors, not much salvage. They just go from Corsa to Corsa now I think

I'd imagine the Mazda/Ford duratec-he engines are pretty easy to swap about

1.8t into anything, most commonly mk2 golf, mk3s are popular too now

1.9 tdi pd as above, would make a great daily drive

saab engines are4 cheap as anything, can pick up a whole car for around £400,

re - volvo 1.7 turbos are not easy to come by really.

Any Saxo engine. Vts conversion costs about £300 and is anywhere from 20-55bhp increase

Grab a few 1.8 Mondeos, always sell, well the black tops do! Can be stuck in most fiestas.

VTS engine as above too, sue they must get wrote off quite a bit

use the c2 1.6 16v in alot of 16v conversions in the saxos now
