If you're a fan of moped-esque rasp, then the E46 is better. E36 is pretty good but a tad quiet imo.

My straight six is deep and bassy but a tiny bit too quiet. I prefer the deeper note, but still want a e36 m3 evo.

I know, my aunts neighbour has one and finds it necessary to bomb up the road when he goes anywhere. It sounds awful.

E46 sounds miles better.

E36 with my Simota sounds good

quiet and refined for town/Mway and howls when booting it.
