Just wondering how many members are still putting up with a lack of power.
Had mine about 4 years, on about 103'000 miles now.
How many miles are you getting to a full tank? I recently filled mine to the brim. since then ive done 350 miles ( mostly motorway ) and its still saying i have around 10 Litres left. Was just wondering if anyone is getting similar results...

I once got 550 miles to a tank in a 1.4 corsa, the 1.0's aren't even that economical, just dangerously slow

Why would you only put £5 in at a time?
I can understand not filling the tank, but £5 isn't even worth bothering with.

There's no such thing as dangerously slow.

Not corsa, but my 1.7 Puma, done 230 miles on £40 (30 litres) and has between empty and 1/4 left still.
Wouldn't have a 1.0.

I put 5 in most of the time, lasts a few days just cant justify 20+ on petrol

Owning a 1 litre for 4 years deserves some sort of medal.
I had mine for a year and that was enough. Using it every day for motorway journeys was a nightmare.

i love my car but will be chuffed to get something a bit faster, really couldnt hack 4 years with it majority of the time its great and i cant complain about the lack of power, but there are times when i wish i had more power, like when going up a slip road, to get up it fast enough not to piss anyone off you have to hammer it and even then its not really that fast, and when im cruising along the motorway and i have to slow down for some reason it takes a while to get back to normal speeds which is why i hardly ever use the motorways

Not sure what I get mileage wise. But I don't think it's very fuel efficient.

Me neither really. I don't think its much better than the 2.0L 16v I have now. Having said that, I do have a heavy foot.

Yeah I have a heavy foot but I think that only because you need one to get any life out of the engine

my 1.4 sport did 300 miles to a full tank... lamba sensor had gone so thats my theory to it doing no miles to a tank. Not tested it since fitting a new sensor as the car is still un-mot'd

Yeah and revving high is bad for fuel. The engines are efficient if driving like your dead. Mine revs at just under 4k doing 70
