It's probably been talked about before but I just wanted peoples views.

I've got my eyes set on a certain car and there's not many of them about locally.

One has just popped up really local, it's about £2k-£2.5K under usually listing price, low mileage for it's age and looks (from the pictures) like a good job. Only problem it was a Cat C write off.

What are your views? Would you buy one if it was properly repaired? Are they hard to sell on?

Not on sure what damage it was it how well it was repaired as it doesn't state it in the ad. Going to see it in an hour.

Like I said though, high quality photos and the colour matches all over the car.

Nice one will. Is there anything you can do to have it removed from the logbook? Can you get it tested anywhere?

vic test just checks it's the car it says it is, doesn't check if the repair is any good.

Been to see the car, it's a dog. NSF damage. Can get a finger in around all the sides of the headlight and just generally tatty, looks like its been stood for years.

I'd buy it along as it was priced accordingly. Most Categerised cars seem to be similar prices to straight cars nowadays

I've had one and would happily have another of price is right.

In 2009 I bought an 04 Corsa C 1.8 SRi with 44k, had half leathers from SXi+ and was Cat C. Straight cars around that time were doing £6k plus without leather. I paid £2k for it. Owned it a year and sold for £3,800 with 55k first person to see it bought it. When I sold it they were around £4500 ish without the half leather so was still cheap IMO.

If its priced right you won't have trouble selling it.

My FN2 Type R is a cat C. Drives perfectly fine and was about £2k cheaper than any other I found for sale so pretty happy with that.
