Been trying to decide what motor i want next which is proving to be a difficult decision.

Its been between either;

A) A hatch/estate derv workhorse
B) Something sporty

Insurance is a PITA ass for the sports but i remembered Warrens 1900CDTi C thread which got me thinking, but my main issue is do i really want to be driving a corsa at 26?

Thoughts?

I drive the missus' C sometimes, don't see the issue?

Was the best car I owned.

End of the day you've had some decent cars, so not as if you're buying one at 17 and keeping it till 26. It's probably only something you'll have no more than 12 months anyway. Why don't you get another Vectra? Workhorsey, dead cheap now and run forever.

Like the idea of a rapid derv C. Cheap insurance and fuel. Will hold its value pretty well.

And its not a fucking van

Does tick a few boxes.

Not sure I'd bother doing the 1900 conversion, you'd be in for 6 grand and that is something nicer.

1700 isnt powerful enough though. If i were to drive a corsa again it would have to be quick.

The 17s aren't that shy.

I know what you're saying but it doubles the price of the car.

I'd be buying a salvage Vegga and doing it myself for 500 quid if you really want one.

In fact if you had a good 17 to sell you might even do it for free.

Doing the work wouldn't be an issue (apart from wiring)

Salvage dont seem to be much below the 800 mark though. although the money could be made back by breaking, but i dont have the time or space to do that.

The C is my favourite Corsa I think. A few Irmscher bits and they look really smart.

Could you drive one now after having bigger and better things?

Not even two weeks past my last C and I just turned 28. Had it for 5 years and never felt like I outgrew it.

Wouldn't exactly call it sporty though...

I wouldn't feel silly driving one, but I wouldn't choose to drive one.

I'd go from a 300 brake RWD car to a 1.7 Corsa C tomorrow.

I'm not a 'car enthusiast' though.

It would be quick with a 1900cdti in it though.

I think i'm clutching at straws tbh. Dont want to settle for a 100hp derv mondeo but i cant have a 2door sportscar either

Waiting for Warren to get back to me re the conversion so why he says may sway my decision one way or another
