Opinions?

Look nice I think, cheap to buy, won't be bad on insurance.

What they like to run? MPG ? Etc?

I'm not indian btw, but I like the look and cost of them... good value for money?

Decent motors, comfortable but they don't do decent mpg, hence the price.

That'd explain why they're so cheap then.

Nice looking motors to be honest.

Mate has 1. I used to like them alot, but after seeing his day in day out, im really starting to think they are looking a bit dated now. Especially interior wise. His has the full cloth seats etc, but the half leather does look alot better.

Feels like it is built like a tank, is silky smooth to drive, and aside what people say, it seems to go pretty well high up the rev range once VVTi kicks in.

I would try and get a sport model with the kit and nicer wheels though.

at not being Indian! Just noticed that.....

I have a IS300 and its best car ive owned (Although I havint owned many)

Looking to sell mine soon if price is right as its such a good example.

Go for a Sport or a SE at minimum.

I average 35mpg on the motorways as thats where I spend most of my time.

Mine is blue with black wheels, black sports grill and mirrors

Ive had one for about 4 years...great solid cars

i had the Sport, which is lowered (15mm compared to SE spec), Diff, sporty pedals and Aero 18 inch Alloys

Common problems 'I' found were sticky caliper (caliper pin eroded), front suspension/bush clunk noise, CD error etc

MPG is pretty poor, esp if buying one with high mileage (no history), only option is petrol aswell

If funds are adquate, then id reccomend an IS300

Yeh I had CD error and now have front suspension clunking. did you get yours fixed Paz? I also have a noise caused by the rear brake shim plate thing which I am going to fix soon.

Mine has loads of history and is in great shape except for the problems I have mentioned above!

Great cars if a little heavy on juice. Only thing I have had to replace on mine was the water pump as it started to rattle and leak, as said go for the sport version as it comes with the full leather, limited slip diff and lowered suspension.

I do about 30 mile a day and I get about 390 miles to a tank.

I personally never had a CD error code, but it was/is a general problem with the IS
Brake shim plate was scraping against something when in motion, but pushed plate back as much as i could which stopped it

everything also just need geasing up from time to time

Ive had mine for around 8 years, love it to bits.

To clear afew mistakes people have said above - the Sports only have lower suspension from around 2001 and newer, the early ones (like mine) didn't. Not all sports had full leather, and the LSD did only come on Sports, but not all (there is a plate in the engine bay, and if it has the code AO2A (i think), it doesn't have an LSD, if its AO2B it does.) Aero alloys/bodykit was an option. The later Sports also came with an uprated stereo.

Fuel wise, they arent great, but ive driven worse cars - best thing to do is free up the brake sliders(common fault) and you'll see the MPG improve - i try to do mine at least once a year.

Other common faults are CD player error code and more than likely the tracking will be out causing inner tyre wear (the standard tracking settings are crap, but WIM can sort it out for you)

I've always had a soft spot for them ever since they were launched tbh.

Not really had a great deal of experience with them but have heard from plenty about MPG not being great.

Love the clocks on them and they tend to have a fair bit of kit!

Oh, lose the lexus lights on it though

I replaced my stereo with a double din pipneer with parrot built in so all is well. Can u tell me how to do the brake sliders?

Also- i have had my gearbox oil and diff oil changed, noticable dofference, especially in the diff!

WIM sorted out my geometry as well

Having worked for Lexus and driven loads I have to say I never really got on with them

They look great IMO but I always thought they lacked 'Refinement' I found the engine to be very noisy and raspy sounding. As said also you'll be lucky to get more than 25 mpg around town but I did used to drive them hard.

Can't remember if I prefered the manual or auto think they suit being an auto more.
