Just wondering how a sportex 3 inch back box sounds on a 1.2 8v, I currently have a japspeed one, is it similar? Thanks.

im purchasing a sportex back box for mine tomorrow. gutted they dont so an outward rolled one tho

yeah the cats at the back of the engine, mines a 1.0 btw. just the centre silencer has gone

Sportex do a box that looks outward rolled on the pic but it isn't. It's more flared then inward rolled

I have a Sportex backbox on my 206 GTI and its nothing but deep, no raspy at all really.

had decat racetube with 3" outta rolled exhaust on my old 1.2 & 1.4 and my redtop sounded the TITS poppd and banged & raspy as fuck

Ive got a sportex 3 inch outward rolled with thier silenced centre section on my 1.2 16v and its pretty good! I dont get many pops and bangs or any rasp but would advise a race tube if thats your sort of thing Wish i had got a racetube :/

yh i got an 'outward rolled tip 3 inch' sportex on a 1.2 8v raspy! even on standard manifold and centre section!

Won't get that many pops and bangs out of it or noticeable gains in power being such a small engined car but for a bit of noise there a good cheap exhaust system.

i've got just the 3" backbox on my 1.4 16v and it sounds great with the rest being a standard system. Not too loud but not quite either. Its just right

I've got the same thing on my Astra


It's a C16SE, 4 branch and de-cat with the cat-back sportex system, sounds really nice. It's a good fit too, fantastic value for money.
