I know this is a vauxhall forum and back home I always had vauxhalls but now im over here in the US the stuff GM makes here is terd, like literally a bunch of terd I would much rather have a good old Corsa B or Mk3 Gsi with an XE/ LET then what they have here

Either way I picked up a 2012 Golf Gti Mk6 with 17k miles, got it for an unbelievable price but the interior is basically trashed so it needs a retrim. The car is in that smokey grey colour so was wondering what you guys would do if you had the chance to retrim?

Getting stuff done like this is really cheap here, I can have a suede headliner and half leather/ suede seats done for about $1k. I was thinking about going with black on black with red stitching

If it were me I'd go for something mad. A light purple or turquoise. The guy that works at plush trimmers has a grey RS4 with the turquoise leather. I looks amazing.

Any pics of your car btw???

I think a pastel sort of shade would suit that sort of grey. Black on black with red stitching will always suit Gtis to follow on from the detailing on the outside.

That Audi rs4 is owned by the owner of plush automotive. His previous car was a mk5 golf in a similar colour with bridge of weir fuchsia leather.

1k for seats and headliner is very cheap. With interiors you really do get what you pay for. Especially when it comes down to materials.

Here is an interior I've done in an Akoya silver audi a3.

Flocked dash imo and retrimmed seats and doorcards.

Retrimming the dash like above in another colour on a car that is far from being a 106 gti just makes it look tacky, just like how it would if you painted your calipers red.

I think if it can be found you'll be looking at around £100 per meter of the tartan stuff.

I think the black with black and red stitching you wanted is the best and also the safest option. Can never go wrong with a fully black interior!

Black on black is nice but if spending 1k+ I'd want something a bit more special looking.

Black is boring and ages quickly. It makes interiors appear smaller and shows every single little mark. Go light deffo!

Ben that's not white.

Thanks for the idea's, finally got it on the road put a Mk5 interior in it for the moment with the usual tartan trim. Appears almost exactly the same as the MK6's seats just without the red stitching.

Cant believe how smooth the engine is, you feel zero transition between when its boosting and when its not

After driving it for a few days I think its just to quiet so been looking into getting the rear silencer changed, was going to go with the Golf R center exit but people are saying the rear valance is not a direct swap for the gti's
