Whilst its awesome, for the price it just seems to be drifting towards something "proper" and no doubt theyll sell them all, just seems odd to me.
If they made it 4x4 id seriously consider buying onw

Sounds interesting.
Unsure about the new model though, especially as a 5 door, just seems wrong.
Suppose it sort of carries on from the sierra sapphire cosworth.

Can't see the 5 door issue harming sales? Same with the ST I'm sure I read somewhere the split in sales was 65/35

Oh and IMO the new ST isn't a patch on the old one looks wise. Astra VXR looks soooo much better

Been out for a couple of months now. The estate actually looks better than the 5 door hatch.
Theres plenty in my work already. Black and blue estates and black, white and orange hatches.
I just hope the rs doesn't come out looking like a chavs dream.

I like them, I think the front is pretty.
Nice inside too, bar the horrid Sony stereo. Meant to be a great drivers car (oh no I didn't) cheaper than the opposition too!

Unless Ford seriously up their game I don't see this being much different to the RS500. Just ugly and 5 doors.
What they should do is make it a hybrid and have electric motors powering 2 of the wheels.
Effectively 4WD, low tax and something new/different.

I heard a bit ago thay was the plan, reckon it wouldn't get made due to costs. 5 door would just ruin it imo.

I have to admit I like having the extra doors. Easier for people to get in and out of and no more getting out in the pissing rain to let them lol.
The mk1/2 Leons, all the Evos really suit the extra doors.

The diff is the key talking point IMO, supposedly they are going to use a GKN Twinster diff, the same as the BMW m-active diff which is supposed to be amazing.

Parents had loads of 3 door cars when we were kids. Was not a problem putting the seat forwards to get in or out, don't see why it is now. Maybe because half the nation is obese?
I guess if you have adult passengers on a regular basis it makes sense. I have adult passengers once or twice a year and that's it.
5 doors like gay as fuck, coupe or 3 door FTW imho of course.

Dav you can borrow my 19 month old girl for a day out in your car and see how you get on mate.
We have one of those swivel chairs in the QashQai and it's so much easier. Even getting her in and out of my scooby is awkward as fuck so she hardly goes in it.
