Would this be safe to use when cleaning a car? Only needed for doing wheels, exterior trim, under arches, door shuts etc.

I know there's stuff that meguires etc supply, but this is nearly half the price for twice the amount! And we have it work so I can get it easy enough

The citrus aroma suggests to me that it may strip all the wax off your car.

Ideal if you're detailing the car, but not if you just want to give it a weekly clean.

This is probably the sort of stuff the bosnians use at the roadside car washes.

looks like a detergent type cleaner to me, i have a bottle similar that came with the karcher and never use it, its not a wax safe ph neutral cleaner imo

would be good for wiping bum nuggets off a tiled floor though

Have you got safety signs?

Dodo juice concentrated shampoo is good value when you work out the dilution ratio.

I wouldn't want to use that sort of product on the car, will probably be ok but putting out the safety signs each time would get annoying

What are you actually wanting it for? If its for stripping wax and cleaning trim then go for g101 APC http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/autosmart-g101-all-purpose-cleaner-5-litres.php

If your just looking for something for an everyday wash then use a shampoo and not apc

On a serious note, I'm not planning on using it to clean the whole body of the car. Just the areas I made in the original post, so ones that don't have any wax on. I'd only consider using it on the rest of the bodywork if I was going to be giving it a full polish and a couple of layers of Collinite after.

Just use the g101 and dilute it how the instructions tell you and it will do the job

Personally I'd go for it, on the very rare occasion I do give the car or van a thorough clean I use something like Daisy household cleaner diluted down with an old microfibre on the arches.

Exactly, I bet the majority of car APC's are just household cleaners in a different bottle with a bigger price tag that companies like Meguiar's make a killing on because people want what the big names in valeting or detailing use. In my opinion of course.

it ill inevitably drip down onto paintwork though, and i've had personal experience with citrus cleaners on freshly waxed car paintwork, and it's not nice at all

For an overall APC G101 is pretty much unbeatable

BUT as said its a wax stripper and VERY bad if not diluted properly. Try a citrus based cleaner that won't strip like Valet pro Pre wash

I just use the shampoo I use on the body for the arches and door shuts. I use wheel wax so treat them like the bodywork.

I find the cheapest tool is elbow grease no point buying too many products to clean things when scrubbing works best.

Bullshit. I use cheap car shampoos/polish all the time on our work vans and they're are awful. Really harsh, no durability, generally wank because they're cheap. I use Meguiars on my car because it works well. Its not even that expensive when you think Dodo Juice make a wax for like £90

You get what pay for. Not that hard to grasp really.

Except we aren't talking shampoos or waxes.

An APC is meant to be more aggressive than a shampoo, hence why you use it clean really dirty areas that aren't going to be damaged by it.

Not that hard to grasp really.
