Failed on CO2 emissions and lambda reading was a shade high should have been 0.96-1.030 and the reading was 1.134

I have a decat tho

my old cats broke so cant u se that, getting a dodgy garage to do me an mot now. Thing is lambdas high which culd indicate an inlet leak or maybe its just a combination of the induction kit and the de cat???

just turn the idle speed down so its just about turning over then it should go thru, then once its passed just turn it back upto its normal idle

You can't turn the idle speed down as it's controlled by the ECU. On carb'd cars you can adjust it by turning a screw I believe.

Yeah on older cars you can do that as I used to do that on my old G reg mk2 Golf but pretty much all newish cars (ie. 93> idle is controlled by the ECU.

My MOT only cost me £30. Even if something was wrong on the car he would have passed it for me any way

I think some mechanical injectional cars don't have ECUs but you can "manually" adjust the idle. For instance, the Ford Escort, the RS Turbo had an ECU but the other standard models had mechanical injection with no ECU. I might be wrong though, but I'm pretty sure that is correct.
