Thought I should add a project thread for my daily drive

Current spec is:

Resprayed in porsche dark olive pearl
HSD coilovers
18 Fuel wheels
GReddy electronic boost controller
random decat
some questionable rear lights
Auto... booooooooo

I dont have huge plans at the moment, sorting out some minor mechanical niggles and the body work are up on the agenda for now. As for the distant future hopefully a manual box and a dirty huge single turbo.

Anyways some pics etc

Standard when my mate owned it about 6 years ago...

Stripped etc to be painted from frog shat green

Painted etc with the wheels yadda yadda yadda

Then add some HSD's and sell to me..

obligitory 1JZ shot...

Soon after getting it i realised i would be better off with candles at night rather than the headlights on the car - not particularly fun down dark country lanes in the rain in a car twice the size of the one you are used to!!
A quick machine polish later and they were much improved but still not quite up to par, spent a few quid on some of chinas finest HID's - went with 55w 4300K bulbs - so so so so so so much better

Before with 35w 6000k

After with 55w 4300k (minor condensation in there..)

Thats pretty much as it stands for now just need to start saving some cash
Matt

The hinges for them probably weigh more than normal cars!!

Looking at getting some standard lights and laminex ing the indicator strip
Either that or i want to get the later lights (not the latest)

Plastic - i might get a spare pair to experiment with however - see if they come apart easily and maybe refurb them somehow

All my bits arrived today.. the intercooler is a touch on the fricking huge size! that i think will have to wait for a while until i have a turbo that justifies the size..

Strut brace is currently in bits being repainted

Cleaned the induction kit - pipework is going in the bin and i shall get some decent sized stuff that actually fits

New boot struts also - so the boot doesnt hit my head when its up

New tyres also - been on the shelf a while and not showing in stock at work so were nice and cheap - £140 for a pair of 255/35/18 dunlops is mazin imo

Very cool car, can't help but think it would look better with a different set of wheels though.

It is very nice to drive - fairly brisk also - not sure on how much power its making 276bhp standard @10psi and im running 15psi

Auto box is ok - i think its on its way out, it hard shifts into most gears and the ratios are wrong imo - its a 4spd auto and fucks around when in 4th and you give a little throttle to say go up a hill.

Its perfect at the moment for me as i sit in alot of traffic to work so auto is nice. I am however looking into a manual conversion - but again unsure on what box to use - the toyota boxes are getting overpriced imo

Not to bad on fuel - i worked it out at about 22 - 25 mpg

Nice, didn't realise these had so much power, bigger turbo it would fly

I know what you mean about auto actually, wouldn't mind it myself sometimes.

That mpg sounds pretty good, considering the size/weight of it and the engine.
