got a induction kit and the car hangs when i boot it. shuld i reset the ECU? meaning disconnet the battery for a few hours yes? does this harm the car at all? also say i want to go back to me normal panel filter.....can i change the ECU back to the way it was?!

its a corsa C by da way 1.0 12v

(ive posted this in here cos i need urgent help as i am thinking about doing this in the next 30mins.......)

should not harm, and u cannot put it back to the same as before as it remaps the ECU

it remaps to optimal settings
so it wuld be better

take off induction and rest can put it back to how it was before

but seen posts like this before and say reset ecu

yeah but do the earth (-) 1st - if the + touchs any bodywork with the earth is still attached - watch for some pretty sparks

lol ha just disconneceted it all now...was shitting meself for sum reason i dunno. its only 12V so who gives a shíte?! ha cars dead now.wat do i do when i start it up? leave it for 1 minute or suttin?! i cant remember wat i have read on here before.....

leave it 4 about 20 seconds in which time it will pop and splutter, then drive it as u normally would for 10-15 min to let it learn ur style

Leave it for an hour or more mate.Don't shit yourself after you connect it back up and it starts spluttering and shit.

yeah so how do you work around an alarm with a 10 digit code- i dont wanna have to input the code again
or will the back up battery remember it?

Munch, a car battery has enough amp power to kill you. Its not about voltage matey. As for disconnecting the battery for the ECU, it can take into effect the induction kit better, but normally will result in no change as the ECU is constantly updating and changing itself everyday you drive. If the car did not splutter and nearly stall after reconnecting the battery, it wasnt properly wiped.

I think there is a way of stopping the alarm going off after the battery has been disconnected. Any ideas what it is folks? I think its disconnecting the battery within 30seconds of de-activation.
