As a few of you may have seen in the ///M thread, I've also got a new car
Travelled up to Suffolk just over a week ago to view it, and luckily liked what I saw and drove back with it the same day. Seems to be a very marmite colour which I don't really care about tbh as personally I like it.
I had a pretty picky specification list that ruled out several that I had been eyeing up previously. This has virtually every option ticked from factory though (for a car of this age anyway I think)
Made a start on cleaning the interior up today as I couldn't stand it any longer (silicone city and grime on the steering wheel) and gave the exterior a very quick wash - photos are just after rinsing the outside though as it was getting dark and I knew it'd get dirty driving home from my unit
Interior before btw, still plenty more to do in here before it's entirely up to my standards, but it's a much nicer place to be now
After (tiny bit still drying) silicone was also cleaned off the centre section later on!):
50/50:
Before:
After:
Haven't got masses planned for this other than detail it to within an inch of it's life so it's up to my standards, and make a few little OEM / OEM+ alterations along the way

Cheers guys
Various products used tbh, but largely Meguiars APC for the deep cleaning along with numerous brushes, magic sponges, microfibres etc.
The wheel up close is actually worn in a couple of places, but no issue as I intended to get it custom re-trimmed at some point anyway.
Same as the gearknob is also worn which again isn't a huge issue as I've been looking into another BMW one combined with a short shift kit at some point.
Whole interior will take a while to get it to a level I'm happy with, but it's a start!
The rest of the car will be detailed at some point too, but no idea when yet as I'm too busy with work!
Eck - possibly. It was my original intention then use these as winter wheels but I am starting to like it as it is. Both are pretty overdone I guess, but it just works well and I don't want anything too 'modified'

I wouldn't have bought a convertible if I didn't come with a hardtop! Going to be a PITA storing it in my unit in the summer, but makes owning a convertible in the Winter much less of a chore
Baskey - as I say, the colour is very marmite Wonder how many on here who hate the colour like brocade yellow Corsa's though?!!
Eck - nope won't be going 'different' the colour of the car is enough for me My job has changed me - I much prefer OEM these days in general!
Oh and yes it's Phoenix Yellow - such a git to photograph tbh as it changes in every photo and with the slightest change of light!

That leather fairly looks alot better now, 50/50 shot on arm rest really shows the difference. Really need o give the leather in the golf a good clean. Was any leather specific used to get that finish or just megs apc?

Nope nothing leather specific, just Meguiars APC (which is safe on leather anyway) and G101 (a stronger APC) - it won't stay quite this matt after a little use, but I'll be cleaning it pretty regularly then once I have reconnolised a couple of worn areas it'll all be sealed with a leather protectant too.
