Wasn't even looking at these, spotted this a few miles away, was pretty much sold the first time I put my foot down. 2003 38k miles. The front of these still make me sick, that hasn't changed because I have one.
Guy I got it from obviously wasn't a fan of washing it, boot still had grass in it. I had originally started with the intention of taking loads of before and afters, it's cold and snowing though so that all went out the window, got the outside cleaned quickly, then got all the shuts and the interior in the garage.
Needs a polish and wax next weekend if the weather plays ball, I need to get my plate sorted as soon as I get the logbook.
Not really had much of a play because of the weather, as you can see from a couple of the pictures, I managed to go out in the snow, with normal tyres, in a rwd car, I'm still here to post about it
Porsche forums are worse than clio ones. If I get to next week without the IMS bearing failing then killing the engine and me I think I'll be doing well.

How much she set you back John?
What's the IMS bearing?
I think the front looks alright Just never liked those lights on the 911. Should have been Boxter only.
How does she drive?
I've only ever driven a BADLY repaired one and it was awful because of the damage it had suffered and the bodges on it.
Never had the chance to drive a straight one in anger.

7.5k.
IMS bearing is a bearing in the engine that's been badly designed and fails catastrophically occasionally.
Drives well so far, definitely not been crashed.

I think front end looks fine, ok it's not amazing but far better than 99% of the bland cars on the road

Panel gaps look a bit odd and colour isn't right on some panels.

Panels do look different in the pictures as well, might have been a write off.

Looks lovely to me, apart from the orange indicators.
Had any hairdresser comments yet?
I wouldn't have thought this was your kind of car. I had you down as more of a 5 door hatch guy.

I meant to put in my original post that I was a gay poor hairdresser now but forgot.
I think you can take that orange bit out, I've got a set of osram diadem bulbs lying there so might do that next weekend.
I normally would have a 5 door hatch but atm I've got a van for work and my old rav for everything else, was just missing something for the weekend.

Lot of car for the dough
Is this IMS thingy anything to do with any kind of variable timing? Just intrigued as am not familiar with the abreviation.

IMS is intermediate shaft, I'd never heard of it until I seen this and started perusing the forums.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvLRMGs-Ti8
Common on the M96 engines and I think also on some of the the 987/997 era engines too.

Watched all of that and at no point did that swine bother to mention to his audience what it does or where it goes Never mind why it wears out
