Had one on demo at work, like a Ford Kuga pretty average pointless boring small car raised up!

Not bad to drive but don't see point of them.

Mate of mines just ordered one.

Im guessing it will be a bit lame being a 1.4l. As a family car though will probably fit the bill.

a lot of people like to sit high up so they can see more of their surroundings.

i wouldn't say it's pointless at all.

3008
Juke
Kuga
Mokka

3008 is a decent car but my god its an ugly fucker.

Personally wouldn't ever have any but Mokka was poor and Kuga no better from our demos.

I looked at the Mokka but have gone for the new Kuga...much better all round IMO, although the Mokka is pretty well specced for the money

My Mum's thinking of getting one when she gets rid of her Corsa. I suppose they're for people who want the higher seating position of a 4x4 but without the overall size and (in most cases) the unneeded weight of the 4x4 system, that's why my mum's looking at them anyway.

The 1.4s are turbos so they're actually the quicker and more economical petrol option compared with the 1.6 n/a petrol they offer, then there's the 1.7cdti as well but either way if you're looking for a hatchback on stilts then performance is generally a way down the priority list.

Lame will not be the word, my mums got the new astra in a 1.4 and its shite. She's 55 and my dads 57, he drives like a proper grandad and even he moans its too slow! And with the weight of it, and small engine it's crap on fuel too. Mokka is bigger than astra?? Not my cuppa tea.

Ahh I see. Would be better then I suppose. Can't say I've driven one though.

What about Kia 4x4 with long warrenty and well specced for less ££. Or even Chevrolet, mate of mines a salesman and sells them, his company car is basically an astra, but the Chevy version, all specced, with leather rear camera aircon etc. all for a good few k less than the astra.

The 1.4 Turbo in the new Astra is a great engine, had one as a hire car from work a few months back. Has some decent power (140 iirc) but also did 45 mpg over a cross country drive where I wasn't exactly taking it easy.

That's the one. My pal said you can get a top spec Chevy version for the same price as a basic Vauxhall.

The juke and mokka aren't that big. The chevvy is massive. Will also be worth nothing in a couple of years time.

True, but most people don't buy a brand new car to sell in a couple of years.

I looked round a mokka in the vauxhall show room and look like half decent cars, don't no what they are price wise ect but looked nice.

I've had a Ford Kuga for a few months when they first came out and I really really like them. Had a titanium x sport or some think like that with all the extras nav leather list goes on and was a dream to drive. Had the 2 litre turbo Diesel engine in wasn't great on fuel but went really well for its size. It was a company car but if I had the £28k or what ever the price tag for a loaded one is and in the market for this type of car, I'd have one
