So, they copied his v5 then got a dealer to make new keys.
Impressive effort.

yes me also, why they would need a picture of that is beyond me? they wanted to do "checks?" surely they only need a number plate to do such checks for HPI etc?

Agree with Gary. why did he automatically assume it was them. Co-incidence maybe.

I read the whole thing on PH and the only thing is that the car is damage, doesn't help really.

they've obviously used the details off the V5 and created a forgery wouldn't be that hard to do to fool a dealer

that was my understanding. All they needed was full VIN.
But like people mentioned on PH request information from BMW of when replacement key was made. Check CCTV at the garage and BOOM!

"You car is on its way to a third world country in a container"
Seriously that whole thread is a load of shit, vague details from the OP regarding the car's reg/colour etc. AND he let them take a photo of the V5

I've got an E60 too and it's pretty scary that somebody can take your car so easily It might be worth getting some aftermarket security as a precaution.

His thread is a bit troll-esque - i.e. post something like that, then walk away letting other people squabble in the thread, jumping to their own conclusions and what not.
Some people on here like to do this too.
I like how he makes reference to 'muslim men' - imagine if Christians committed crimes like this too!
