... yeah yeah, shouldn't have been speeding, my fault, blah blah blah.
I'm not on here to bitch about it.
I already have 3 points for speeding still on my license but they aren't active and can come off in a few months.
The cop told me it'll either be a fine and 3 points or speed awareness course. Which is it likely to be or is it a random selection? Can I choose which one?

depends on the speed you were doing.
you do get an option of which to take if you're eligilbe.

Though history would dictate that the chances are very slim at that speed but its more revenue for the local police force so who knows.

i paid £95 and it was a 4 hour course, from 8:30am-12:30pm

Well they are either on your licence and active, or off your licence and inactive lol.

They're still listed on your paper license even if theyre spent unless you request they be taken off...
When I did a speed awareness course, they said the limits for the course in Staffordshire are 38mph-44mph in a 30 limit; below they don't prosecute and above is instant fine/points, so you may well get offered the course

Ah right i see. I always thought they were active for the 4 years, then removed, but still declarable to insurance for another year.
