Been offered a new job which is a great step up from my current role and decent long-term prospects.

The sticking point in my mind is that its a minimum hour drive each way though - 35 miles ish. Worst times of day could take 1.5 hours although the role is somewhat flexi so I could start at 8 and leave at 4 which helps a bit.

How long/how far is your commute?

I started my new job two months ago.

41.5 miles each way. Start at nine. Leave home 20-25 past seven...

It is a killer especially coming from a job that was 7 miles away.

55 minutes door to door, but I don't drive any of it.

I wouldn't want to go much longer than about 1 hour 10 minutes, and it would have to be the right job for me to do that.

Reason for asking is current job is 500 meters walk, so changing to an hour drive is going to be a proper shock

33 miles each way for me and can take anywhere from half an hour to an hour depending on traffic.

Been doing it for over 7 years now so I am well used to it but despised it at first, my next job will within a 10 mile radius

About 15 miles but I start at half 5 in the morning so no traffic. Although I do drive all day for my job then have to druve home which can be annoying after a long shift.

Ive been doing 35 miles each way for 5 years. No traffic it takes me 45 mins and with traffic it takes about an hour.

Took me 3 1/2 hours last week because of the snow.

Was 14 miles each way. Moved offices to 7 each way. Now down to 500m walk. Leave home 10 minutes before due to start, and save £150 a month fuel.

I've just got a new job which is 35 miles each way. Just over an hour.

Start on the 6th April so will let you know how I get on

For the right money/prospects it's well worth it
