My dad fancies another nice day/weekend car, but he doesn't know what yet.

Ideally he wants something that he can buy, use for a couple of years and sell on without losing too much money, so it'll need to be something which will hold it's value quite well, so maybe something quite rare/unusual, or a limited edition.

I suggested a Ford GT, but he's thinking more along the £90k region and they're currently about £120k+

So come on then. Give me some ideas...

So far I'm thinking along the lines of these:

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/aston-martin/v12-vantage/v12-vantage-coupe/1169368

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/aston-martin/vanquish/aston-martin-vanquish-s/1094353

They're both quite rare, but I'm not sure how well they're hold thier value...

I had been told they can be temperamental, but I assumed that was a cliche, or they were referring to the older Astons. Then again, I guess a Vanquish does fall into the older Aston category.

The Gallardo is a good suggestion, although I don't think he'd ever choose a spyder over a coupe. Maybe a Superlegerra would be a better option.

As nice as that is, I believe it will feel ancient and archaic compared to say a Gallardo

Only thing I can think of in that price range is a 911 Turbo, the fat arse model.

Well I suggested the 360CS to him and although he likes the idea, he said if he was ever going to own a Ferrari he'd do it properly and get an F40. Sadly (but understandably) he doesn't want to spend that much for a weekend toy.

Honestly couldn't tell you. Never searched for one before. It says the listing date is "14-Mar-2013" but that doesn't mean it hasn't been re-listed.

Currently sorting out the lease for an industrial unit to use for car storage so once that's organised and we've got some cars shifted about the shopping will commence.

Still no closer to finding something he's happy with though.
