I got thinking t'other night after reading the Corsa GSI thread.

Are there any mass production cars which have gone completely extinct? It seems like every marque has got it's enthusiasts so there will always be a mint example hiding away somewhere, but surely it's only a matter of time before a car is broken, crushed, crashed or burned out without the owner realising it was one of a kind.

The lines will always be blurry I guess, what qualifies as a "mass" production car - and there will always be replicas and kitcars which could predate the modern documentation and identification associated with a car.

I did a quick google, but couldn't find anything that jumped out at me - probably because I'm the only mong thinking about it.

Cars that have been extinct probably deserved it.

Couldn't see it happening with the like of Corsa gsi's and sporty Novas etc for a while. Or at least I hope not.

There's 130 corsa gsi on the road, at the current rate of decline they should be all gone by the end of 2013.

At the current rate there'll be 60 left at the end of 2013. I'd expect the rate to decrease, though.
