Most of have probably seen but I got one of these as a daily. This came about because my old man bought a land rover, so we all had a switch around of cars, I gave my mother my swift and my dad gave me his audi a4.

I decided the A4 was too big, i didnt need such a big car with 4 doors and the rest of it, so i sold it, and got the mini after driving a mates girlfriends a while back and being impressed with it. I wanted a supercharged one, as im bored of turbos now, so was after a late one, so 06/56 as the turbos came in in 07.

Found this example, had only 27k on the clocks, and was the perfect year and supercharged.

It is a Checkmate version so comes with a few nice extras, interior lighting pack, paint colour, 17's, LSD etc etc, also found out after there is only just less than 700 of these models on the road so fairly unique.

After a p21s, I dont think it had ever been polished

Interior, not to everyones taste

First job was to fix an oil leak i spotted when I bought it. Probably one of the disadvantages of a car with such low miles for its age, perishing rubber and o rings.

It wasnt dripping so concluded it was probably not sump related, in the end traced it back to the crankshaft position sensor, which im led to believe is quite common.

It drips down the front of the block then blows underneath the car when in motion.

The procedure to replace the crank pos sensor is to remove the front of the car, which is modular, I couldnt really be arsed with all that so used another solution

Power steering fan off, remnants of the leak on here

Removed the engine stabalizer mount

Used a ratchet strap to pull the engine back giving more room up front

Heres the sensor

Removed

cleaned up and applied some sealant on the o ring.

and refitted. If it still leaks il just buy a new sensor.

Very nice Steve, not a big fan of the white leather or the chequer stickers on the wings but that's part of the spec.

My sister had one of the earlier ones (02 plate) and I drove that a few times and was pretty fun!!

My mates also just bought one for doing Trackday Trophy in.

Any plans for future or keep it nice for the road?

No doubt every one on here will hate it, not cause they for like it, just cause its you.

Do you know what I think would make that less offensive? A non blue dash insert! Piano black or something?

I'd like to have a shot of one of these driving Ben G after a bad bank holiday monday of DIY angry style

The door trims are also painted blue Pow, so think black dash would look out of place.

Oil change

I hate the way they put oil in 4l bottles knowing full well most cars require 4.5L for an oil change

How much was the GRS Intercooler direct from GRS? I'm guessing that should be easy enough to fit.

Lohen cant get hold of intercoolers for 3-4 weeks.

They also seems a bit clueless, I was asking their advice over the phone by explaining that iv not had much experience with superchargers and know more about turbos, and is it still the case with superchargers that too warm air can cause pre det in hot weather.

Didnt seem to know what that meant and started waffling about lag.
