After reading some reviews, i'm moving on to BCAA tablets and L Glutamine to supplement standard protein. I was struggling with a shake before my session so i'm having 2 hard boiled eggs and hour before a session, then shakes after and before bed.

So far i've gone from 74kg's to 78kg's since Christmas (i've always been fairly lean anyway), thats with a 3 week break too when I went to Australia. I can see clear gains so far but I dont want to plateau. I'm changing my workouts to monday and tuesday, then thursday and friday with breaks wednesday, saturday and sunday.

Anyone use / used BCAA or L Glutamine before and what did you think?

Why are you struggling with shakes before your session? Surely "harder" to eat 2 hard boiled eggs?

I had L Glutamine before, my mate calls them "miracle tablets", if anything it just reduced aching for the next day or two - could just be a placebo though.

Because I can't fridge the milk and it's warm when I drink it. I love eggs.

Didn't you use to take something silly like 17 grams of creatine a day?
And you've only put on 4 kg in almost five months?

If you're actually trying to build mass it sounds to me like you need to worry more about your training and diet than supplements.

I have 7 grams of creatine a day. I eat well, I eat my calories, I eat clean, I eat all my vits. Unfortunately I don't work in a place I'm able to eat before I train.

I wasn't looking for instant results but learn more as I improve and build over a longer period rather than the usual 6 month gym 'fad' that people go through. I know it's a long road.

In a nutshell, Amino Acids aid protein synthesis, reducing muscle fatigue and reducing recovery times.

There's nothing heals better than food and sleep. I tried BCAA. Unless you're cutting its not worth the bother. Imo

That statement pretty much contradicts this whole thread, doesn't it?

What exactly is your goal?

Amino acids helps if you're pushing your self 100% and want better gains, faster.
If you want to build over a longer period, don't bother with amino's or creatine, just do whey protein and a proper diet.

I'll still maintain that your results so far tell me your supplements are not the place to make adjustments.

Buy a mini fridge for your work and start taking a weight gainer. That will help you gain weight faster.

Doing 1 body part a week, i think your body has more than enough time to recover.

85kgs by start of October. Then I'll set another target. I'm consuming my target protein, about 150-160g a day.i eat a healthy balanced diet whilst managing about 3500 calories a day. I have a very high metabolism and an over active thyroid. Gaining and maintaining mass have always been a challenge.

Maybe where you work they'd be ok with that, not where I work.

I've had an over active thyroid in the past and if not treated/managed correctly you will be doing yourself irreparable damage mate.

Gets said all the time but if you have that condition and your struggling to train/gain weight then you need help. I opted for taking medication rather than operations as often in young men it corrects itself in later life like mine did.

I use free weights too, z bar and stuff, I'm using free weights more and more now to be honest. I didn't to start with though.

Do you do the same things/exercises everytime you go?

vary up your routine so you keep your body guessing (this has helped me most recently in terms of strength, not so much size as my diets no where near good enough but I have still grown).
