Has anyone owned one? Been looking at them lately, and there's a lot of car for the money!
Looking at about an 06/56 plate, M Sport, and with the 19" upgrade wheels.
Would anyone else feel a bit silly driving one at 22? Quite a big car for someone without a family to cart around

I've been looking them as a next car, I dont think it would be silly, couple of little tocuhes would look very smart, good wheels will change it completely

Have you seen the 19" upgrade wheels? I think they suit it perfectly, much better than the more common 18s they come with as standard

If you can find an E90 3 Series M Sport, no older than 06, less than 70k miles with full leather, sat nav and either a 330d or 335d for under £12k, then I'd get one

It's a larger car with a longer wheelbase. Of course it's a nicer place to be.

Not quite the same Germanic build and ride quality Gav.
The larger the vehicle the more space, the nicer the driving experience (not in a sporty way obv) theonger wheelbase absorbs the imperfections in the road that a small wheelbase doesn't. Not that a 3 is bad, but there's a reason they offer a LWB version and the added cost.

The only time the e60 would be better would be if your a passenger . E60 is a boat to drive compared to e92 or e90 .

Sales manager had a 530d on about 180,000 miles when he sold it. It was a bit like Triggers broom at the end but it was a decent car

Better from a sporty point of view, as its a smaller lighter vehicle obviously.
Longer wheelbase 7 for e.g they make it due to added leg room and additional ride quality/luxury. Hence it being a nice place to be.

An old friend had an E60 525i Msport with the 19" Spiders and it was an awesome car to look at and a very nice place to be. Was fully loaded and even though it was a big motor it didn't have the old man-ish feel to it like most would think.

Not 100% sure, was about 4 years back. I don't think it was brilliant on fuel but you wouldn't expect it to be for the size of it.

Thats your interpretation of nicer. More space doesn't mean a nicer environment.

I had a 335d for a few months as it was a epic can loved that engine , didn't drive it slow and the worst average mpg I got was 32mpg, on a motorway sat at 80 it was 50mpg, had just enough power to have fun and was a comfey car, it even convinced my mate to go out looking at a 535d as he needed the extra doors , only got rid of it as it was to easy to be doing naughty speeds , but will defo be getting another one but prob a convertible
