They're taking stuff out of it, not brigning it in, so doesn't look like they're nesting... Any ideas?

nest, but maybe they need a bigger place due to having a kid so the council have relocated them to a bigger nest

It's eating your door and turning it into a nest.
They did it to a bird box we had. No bird box was left by the end of it

It isn't. When the door is closed the bee just flies around looking confused. It also appears it's just that one bee, which seems a bit odd.
I tried plugging the whole and immediately it went to work digging a new entrance through the side of that crusty thing.

I thought it was only wasps that did this sort of thing.
Will try removing the lock and see if the wood's damaged. Just hope I don't piss them off and end up covered in beeeees!

Remove startings of nest, Burn house to ground, salt the earth and relocate.
That's what I'd do anyway

I had the exact same thing last year on our back door!
It took best part of a week of constantly removing the material, blocking up the hole and leaving the door closed as much as possible. They soon left and haven't bee(n) back since!
